We have a fleet of thousands of cars in the Ministry of Defence and those vehicles account for a very small number.
But regardless of if you’re traveling in a Chinese car or a non-Chinese car, our instruction to our people is to avoid connecting Ministry of Defence devices into their car, not to have discussions at a classified classification in any car, because of the growing risks of surveillance that are present in all vehicle, to only have those secret conversations in protected areas. That’s a prudent and reasonable thing for anyone concerned about security.

When it was put to him that it would be wise for the ministry to cease using every Chinese vehicles, the minister replied: That is precisely what we are looking into at the moment.”
